in tghe 1970s the strawbs recorded a song called,i think,"you wont get me-im part of the union".although this was apparentluy written as an attack of the idea of trades unionism,it backfired and became in certain quarters, and anthem FOR trade unionism.
a while ago my wife sent me a reference to a more recent recording by the black eyed peas of a song, which appears to be in favour of trades unionism.
perhaps iys my age but the latter almost made me feel sick its so sickly and cuddly.outdated "...im part of the union"might be but if the newer piece is the best anyone can do,give me the strawbs, anyday.
