Luxemburgist political parties Empty Luxemburgist political parties

    Hello everyone,

I was wondering if their are any political parties/movements that are explicitly Luxemburgist or endorse many Luxemburgist ideas.

I know the SP-USA does endorse some ideas of Luxemburg, and also include Luxemburgism/Council communism as one of their ideologies, but I haven't found any parties that are really founded upon Luxemburgism.

Wikipedia says their are "very few active Luxemburgist revolutionary movements", so, who are these very few?

Nowadays strickly "luxemburgist", I don't know except us. Nevertheless, some grops inspired in Council Communist and German-Netherland Communist Left, reclaims "critically" great part of her ideal (see Wiquipedia or Communist Left in "broadleft"). Even currents inspired mainly in Italian Communist Left, like CCI, reclaims her.

Besides, you have authors like Walden Bello (some companions know much more that me about them)that reclaims Luxemburguist.

Historically, you have in the 3o's "Cercle Communiste Democratique" in France (in particular Henry Lefebre), or "Socialisme ou Barbarie". Also in "Bataille Socialiste" you have other parties specially influenced by Rosa's thougt. Also you have all the groups in the line of Communist Council (Paul Mattickk is an outstanding autor). Also rewiew BILAN, progresively inspirated in Rosa ideas, removing leninist "dogmas" out.

Also, some "troskists" reclaims Rosa's Legacy, but only the part that is useful for them: they reject or "forbid" his wiew on "national liberation" and "anti-imperialist", and only accept her criticism of bolsheviks like a "friendly" corrective. (Well, they have right their to reclaim only a part; but we also reclaim the whole (not dogmatically of course)

If we speak really of political parties, there is none. The only one was the KPD, only for the few first months in 1919.

But there have been and still are some Luxemburgists groups. For example the one I belong to, Communist Democracy (Luxemburgist).

The Cercle Communiste Démocratique never claimed to be Luxemburgist, but it's true that his views was very close to the Luxemburg's ones. The group was led by Boris Souvarine (but Henri Lefebvre was at that time a Stalinist, and of course he never belonged to the Cercle Communiste Democratique). You can find some infos about that group in french here : http://wikiwix.com/cache/?url=http://www.critique-sociale.info/index.php/histoire/55-les-vies-de-boris-souvarine

Still in France, Rene Lefeuvre (who came from the Cercle Communiste Démocratique) launched a "Groupe Spartacus" in 1934, which was Luxemburgist ; they joined the "Gauche Révolutionnaire" and then the "Parti socialiste ouvrier et paysan", where there was some Luxemburgists.

There's some that don't claim to be "Luxemburgists", but in fact are (sometimes they don't belong to any group, or just to a Trade Union). At the same time there are some that claim to be close to Luxemburg's ideas or even claim that they are Luxemburgist but, in fact, they are not. Nothing is simple...

First off, welcome to the forum.

There are very few Luxemburgists, as you surely know. Indeed, they are some (small, very small) Luxemburgist groups (they are here listed by alphabetical order) :

Alternativa Proletaria (Proletarian Alternative) in Spain

Démocratie Communiste (Communist Democracy in France

International Luxemburgist Network mainly in Spain, the US, France... The American comrades can be reached at english /AT/luxemburgism.lautre.net

Other than that, this forum is a bit like a meeting point for all Luxemburgists and people close to our ideas... so don't hesitate to participate here too.
