although i have my doubts that the New Statesman magazine is even a vague.fuzzy left of center magazine it is undoubtedly significant that Dr.Rown Williams current Archbishop of Canterbury and effectively head of the Anglican/Episcopalain church worrld wide is guest editor this week.
he is reported as having not simply challenged the current government on its education and social policy but has fundamentally asserted that no one voted for the radical(slash and burn)policies of that government.in my view this more than tacitly says this governmenmt has no madate and i like to hope it ddoes more than imply it has any contract of any kind with the rest of us.it certainly also challenges "lord camerons""wheeze"that"the big society"means anything.
such a rupture offers an opportunity we should not let go.this may not be working class politics and he is no revolutionary but he is known as a thoughtful man who is clearly capable of seeing and articulating some things for what they are.
the condems are constantly demonstrating that however much they talk about it,they cannot run this society in their own interests with any success let alone in ours.we need to work for a fundamental "regime change"here.and now.
we have a better world to win.and even from a religious perspective-"(s)he who wants gods help,must first tie up their camel"or"god helps those who help themselves"
they rule for themselves and for profit.we must act together for the sake of humanity
