CUB, Confederazione Cobas, SdL Intercategoriale have proclaimed a GENERAL STRIKE of all categories, public and private, for the whole day of the 17th of October.
This strike is meant to support the platform that these three unions have submitted to the government on the 20th June, which contains:
-massive increases of the wages and pensions, introduction of an automatic mechanism to correct wages depending on the rise of the prices and in order to defend public pensions
-reintroduction of the national contract
-defence and improvement of the social services, common proprieties, right to health care, right to a home and instruction
-abolition of Treu’s and 30 lows
-continuity of income and fight against job as well as social precariousness
-safety at work and penalties to whom provokes either severe or deadly injuries.
-fight against racism wish denies equal rights and which gives to the immigrants extra social struggle
-give back to the workers the right to say no to owner's claims and to choose the organisation to work with
-equal rights to all worker’s unions
-defence of the right to strike
The ongoing negotiation among Confindustria e Cgil, Cisl e Uil will need to be up to the challenge.
This negotiation is aiming to avoid:
-draining of the national work contract
-increasing of the privatisation by the government
-the deep wage crisis that the workers and their families are having
-overflowing of the precariousness
-the attempt to demolish the social services also by attacking the public workers and
-cutting down of the public school and national health employees
-spreading of racism all over the country
-renewing war feelings
This action wants to move workers to defend what so far acquired with struggles and to conquest wages and new rights.
